back to the USA

ok so I have been in Pune now for almost a month. I am now back in the US to take my hubby and kids to India with me. Unfortunately it took 32 hours of travel time to get from Pune to Cleveland. The plane was delayed coming in and thus delayed going out. Luckily, I was upgraded to first class for the entire flight (with connection) so that made the flight so much more bearable.

then when I arrived in Newark I was able to go to the President's Club and shower and freshen up...totally worth it! I think the worst part of this is the fact that I just spent 32 hours traveling, will spend 5 days in CLE and then spend at least another 24 hours traveling back (this time with hubby and kids). Totally wish I could just teleport!

But I can't express how excited I am to bring my family back with me to Pune. I just love being there, I love working there and I love my new friends. I am so happy that my hubby and kids can now experience this with me and we can be together again. Its been a long year of being separated and to be finally able to be together as a family is going to be so great!

First Week

ok so i have been here a whole week now and have had major difficulties getting online...I was using my blackberry but somehow i totally killed the BB and it won't even turn on now. Luckily verizon is sending me a brand new storm and it should arrive today which will help.

other noteworthy events...

• took all week just to get my computer access at the office
• have been trying since last tuesday to get a local mobile phone and still no luck, despite assurances that it will be up and running by 8:30pm last wednesday, and then they said it would be active by 8:30pm saturday and here it is monday with still no phone
• did find a flat! 3BHK in kalyani nagar in the fortaleza society, its a good location, across the street from the mall, the movies, McD's and KFC and all the shopping
• got to go out with some coworkers and had a blast didn't get home until 5am
• just vegged on sunday, since i don't have a phone i am not sure i am comfortable going out by myself incase i get lost or something so hopefully this phone thing (either the BB or the local mobile) will sort itself out these next few days
• was able to have dinner with a really great family last wednesday, met him on the plane and he is from atlanta but building a house here in pune
• was able to get through the first week of work, starting to learn the processes and the people!

that about sums up my week, nothing too exciting but it was a lot of fun none-the-less, just wish my family was here with me...only 20 more days until i see them again!

Dallas

So I just landed in Dallas and I am here to meet my new colleagues! I am really excited to finally meet the people that I have been emailing with and having conference calls with.

This is pretty self centered - but my biggest worry is if I brought the right clothes to wear and if they will like me!

I'll report back after I meet them, let's hope it all goes well!

Its Official!

So we finally made the decision! We are moving to India! Pune to be exact. Now I was in India last year but I was only able to visit the greater Delhi area and Mumbai. So I am a little apprehensive about moving to Pune having never seen the city, but if it is anything like the rest of the country, I will love it!

I absolutely fell in love with India while I was there last year and am so excited to go back. I just loved how things are always in motion, things are always changing, and things can be such a dichotomy. I can't wait to share the country with my family. My hubby and kids are in for a surprise but I hope they can share my love for the country.
